I am finding that the lemon metaphor I have begun to use makes it easy for me to bring up and talk about (debunk) the bondage-producing verses in the Bible about women–those that have been held front and center in Christian teaching and used to hurt women for centuries in the devil’s war against her. What is the Lemon metaphor?

A problem I see today is that a wrong definition of love has invaded and almost swallowed the church. The love message is so strong that it overrides truth. Love and truth always go together. As the old “Love and Marriage” song says, you can’t have one without the other. Jesus loved us and He always spoke the truth (often times hard truth). This was disturbing to some and unwelcomed. Still, He spoke the truth that His Father gave Him to speak. When He finished His speaking ministry, those who rejected the truth He spoke crucified Him … and in His willing submission to that terrible death on the cross, He demonstrated the love of God for man in a way that had never been seen before. It was His testimony of truth and love that opened the door to salvation for all—even those who killed him. He told us to take up our cross and follow Him … In Ephesians, Paul encouraged us to follow in His footsteps by speaking the truth in love. Not always easy, but doable through Christ who strengthens us!
So, how do we aproach our brothers in love?
This is not a welcome bit of knowledge in many places.
